iciHaiti - Politic : New promises from Prime Minister Henry
This week, Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry accompanied by Ministers Liszt Quitel (interior) and Pierre Ricot Odney (Social Affairs) met with representatives of various trade union associations of motorcycle taxi drivers, as well as members of grassroots community organizations of the metropolitan area.

It was first a question of discussing the fuel crisis, the black market and the illicit trade in certain sectors and also the need to adjust the price of fuel at the pump.

In his desire to provide rapid and lasting responses to the socio-economic problems of the country, Ariel Henry made a summary of the inventory of the situation : scarcity of petroleum products, high cost of living, the difficulties faced by parents as part of the back-to-school period.

Aware of the seriousness of the situation, Henry promised, within a very short time, the adoption of a whole series of measures aimed at making fuel available at service stations, implementing a program of social appeasement for the benefit of the most vulnerable and deprived populations, to fight against extreme poverty and to encourage a return to school in the best possible conditions.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of Government appealed for calm, in particular, to motorcycle taxi drivers who must above all not give in to incitement to violence or political manipulation.
