iciHaiti - Politic : Works in the metropolitan areas
As part of the multisectoral social appeasement program launched by the Government, the Ministry of Public Works has undertaken repair and rehabilitation works on several roads in downtown Port-au-Prince in particular and in different areas of the metropolitan area.

According to Rosemond Pradel the Minister of Public Works, sites are progressing rapidly in the city center where the sidewalks are being redone and grids are being placed on the open sewers at the level of Joseph Janvier and Reunion streets in particular, which posed a danger to the lives of pedestrians.

The Minister intends to make every effort to facilitate the movement of motorists and pedestrians in the capital and in other regions of the country. According to the Minister, the course will be set very soon, on the national #1 which is a very critical and which requires a very large intervention.

The Minister also announced that works will be launched at the level of Clercine, Tabarre and Bon Repos among others and invited the population to be patient because, despite his good will, he stressed that the lack of means did not allow him to to intervene on all construction sites at the same time.

Pradel promises to relieve the ordeal of road users especially as the next return to school approaching scheduled for October 3rd https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37497-haiti-flash-date-of-the-start-of-the-2022-2023-school-year-postponed-official.html
