iciHaiti - Weather : Floods in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets
The torrential rains that fell on the night of August 16 to 17, 2022 in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets caused flooding in Jerusalem, ONA-ville and Corail Cesselesse.

On Wednesday, the Communal Commission urgently dispatched a team from the Communal Administration to the scene to accompany the Civil Protection agents of the Commune.

Following an initial assessment, the Town Hall and Civil Protection teams identified two deaths in the areas of Jerusalem and Corail Cesselesse. They are Jimmy Saturday, a little boy of 1 year and 6 months and Mr. André Gaston (56 years old).

6 houses were totally destroyed, 51 others were flooded in Corail Cesselesse block 6 and ONA-Ville 10, leaving several families in disarray.

Faced with this situation, the Communal Commission chaired by Jean Wesnel Édrouine Pervil is appealing for assistance to help the victim families. Mattresses, blankets, tarpaulins, water, food and hygiene kits are urgently needed.

While presenting its deepest sympathy to the families of the deceased, the Communal Commission reassures the affected people of its solidarity and support and thanks the members of the population of the affected areas for their sense of mutual aid and fraternity.
