Friday, August 12, the Ministry of Youth celebrated International Youth Day "JIJ 2022" around the theme "Intergenerational Solidarity : Creating a world for all ages" and honored more than a dozen inspiring young role models, youth associations and national selections that have contributed to the development and influence of their respective fields.

Several activities such as a youth fair, interventions on themes relating to youth issues marked the celebration of the day held this Friday, August 12 at the Hotel Montana. Minister Rival took the opportunity to launch an appeal for unity and serenity with a view to creating a stable climate necessary for the execution of social projects within a global framework of sustainable development. She renewed her determination to mentor and redirect Haitian youth towards better life goals.

On the other hand, as part of this International Youth Day, the Embassy of the United States, Port-au-Prince (Haiti) welcomed young people including "RezoFanm Kapab DAyiti Refkad" (a national network of organization of Haitian women). The political section made a presentation on the basic principles of human rights and democracy. Then they played a dodgeball game with the US Marines.

The consular section talked about legal and safe ways to visit the United States. The Office of Public Affairs explained how to study in the United States, exchange programs and learning English. Finally, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Stromayer dropped by to say hello and share words of wisdom and hope on the occasion of this International Youth Day.
