iciHaiti - Weekly road report : Spectacular drop in accidents
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from August 1st to 7, 2022, 13 accidents on the national territory (-63.8% compared to the previous bulletin hhttps://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-37319-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-36-accidents-at-least-171-victims.html made at least 54 victims (-68.4%): 3 dead (-72.7%) and 51 injured (-68%) including several seriously...

Fonds Parisien, Cayes, Delmas 33, Cap-Haitien, Vialet, Mirebalais, Léogâne, Port-Salut and Ouanaminthe are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on the roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
