iciHaiti - Insecurity : Intense exchanges of fire in Port-au-Prince, the PNH increases its presence
Thursday, July 28, 2022, due to the intense exchanges of automatic weapon fire heard in downtown Port-au-Prince and in other areas of the capital following the violent inter-gang clashes, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) has increased its presence for a few days already through the streets to reassure the population.

The PNH, which understands the feeling of concern felt by the inhabitants and more particularly the commercial and university sector because of this climate of tension, wishes to clarify that the police have not remained passive in the face of this situation.

In fact, special units were quickly deployed in certain neighborhoods and were reinforced in others to prevent these criminals from creating panic by using terrorist methods to attack the lives of peaceful citizens or to destroy public property or private.

Several of these thugs, armed with assault rifles, were fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the Police in downtown Port-au-Prince on Wednesday July 28, 2022, while others were apprehended and will be brought before Justice.

The police authorities invite the population to remain calm and call for everyone's collaboration in efforts to maintain public order.
