iciHaiti - PNH : 26th anniversary of the creation of SWAT
To mark the 26th anniversary of the creation of the Intervention Group of the National Police of Haiti (GIPNH), better known as the "SWAT Team", a requiem mass was celebrated by the Reverend Father Dukenson Saintamand.

This celebration took place in the presence of Frantz Elbé Director General ai of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) of the Chief Inspector General Fritz St Fort, of the Inspector General Joany Canéus (Central Directorate of the Administrative Police), Principal Commissioner Richardson Mersan, head of the National Police Intervention Group, representatives of the United States and French Embassies, representatives of the International Narcotics and Laws Enforcement Affairs (INL), friends and parents of police officers in the SWAT unit.

In his speech, Richardson Mersan congratulated the SWAT officers for their full dedication in accomplishing their missions, while encouraging them to be motivated once again in the fight against organized crime.

Fighting crime in all its forms across the country is one of the priorities and all the specialized units of the PNH, particularly the SWAT, are actively involved in this long battle.

On this occasion, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the officers of this elite unit who died in the line of duty.

Let's recall that the release of hostages and the intervention against acts of terrorism are some of the main missions of SWAT.
