Inspired by the eventful life of Jovenel Moïse, President of Haiti assassinated on July 7, 2021, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34162-haiti-flash-president-jovenel-moise-assassinated-by-mercenaries-official-updated-7am-+-video.html the director wrote the story based on real events and the writer Gary Victor and actor Paul Henry Athis wrote the screenplay. Robinson Lauvince would like to point out that his film "July 7" is neither a tribute to the late President nor his trial but was made rather for the sake of history. The film tells the story of a president, his childhood and all the paths he had to travel before reaching the supreme magistracy until his assassination in his residence.
