iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 30 accidents at least 159 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from June 20 to 26, 2022, 30 accidents on national territory (-51% compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-36976-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-21-accidents-at-least-132-victims.html made at least 159 victims (+20.4%): 16 dead (+45, 4%) and 143 injured (+ 18%) including several seriously...

Plaisance (RN#1), Morne Calvaire, Terre Rouge (RN#3), Cavaillon, Cap-Haitien, Delmas 33, Carrefour Charles (RN#2), Thomassin 37, Gros-Morne, Croix Périsse, road to Tara's, Petit -Goâve, Ouanaminthe are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
