iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : 98 Haitians repatriated by the US Coast Guard

On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the crew of the American Coast Guard "William Trump" repatriated to Cap-Haitien 98 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation (men, women and children) rescued on June 25 at around 10:30 a.m., about 40 miles South-East of Islamorada (Florida) while they were in an overloaded small sailboat, sail lowered and out of order,
All migrants were transferred aboard the "William Trump" and provided with food, water and basic medical care.
"The Coast Guard and our partners will continue to vigilantly patrol, detect, intercept and deter these dangerous voyages," said Coast Guard District 7 Lt. Travis Poulos.
Since October 1st, 2021, Coast Guard crews have intercepted 6,114 Haitian migrants against:
1,527 Haitian migrants in fiscal year 2021
418 Haitian migrants in fiscal year 2020
932 Haitian migrants in fiscal year 2019
609 Haitian migrants in fiscal year 2018
419 Haitian migrants in fiscal year 2017
