iciHaiti - Politic : The PM counts on the support of the OPC
Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the afternoon the Prime Minister a.i., Ariel Henry went to the Citizen Protection Office, (OPC) where he met with Renan Hédouville, Protector of the Citizen around the economic situation current.

This visit was also an opportunity for the Prime Minister to encourage the OPC in its efforts to strengthen the rule of law and consolidate democratic institutions.

"The situation of our country commands all those who say they want to get it out of its multiple crises to demonstrate their ability to surpass themselves and to do everything possible to bring together all Haitians in a patriotic outburst around a common national project.

It is imperative that Haitians work together to reconcile segments of our society that are too divided.

This is a must if we want to restore security, deal with armed gangs and their sponsors, create a climate conducive to the holding of elections with a high turnout, in order to rebuild our democratic institutions.

The Government is counting on the OPC, as a State institution, to make its disinterested contribution to this 'Konbit Nasyonal' for reconciliation and reconstruction,"
declared Aryiel Henry...

During the exchanges, it was also discussed, among other things : the formation of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and the interventions of gang leaders in the media, on this point the Head of Government requested the support of the OPC faced certain excesses in which many media indulge... (without naming them)
