IciHaiti - Reminder : Prohibition of graduation ceremonies...
The Ministry of National Education recalls that graduation ceremonies for the level of preschool and intermediate classes of fundamental and secondary are formally prohibited.

Graduation ceremonies are authorized only at the end of the study cycle (9th fundamental year and secondary 4). However, no child can be sanctioned by the management of a school for not participating in a graduation ceremony. In other words, these ceremonies are not mandatory for parents. It is a voluntary act that cannot be imposed without their consent.

The Ministry underlines that this decision was taken by ministerial circular, since October 16, 2014, following the numerous abuses observed in the organization of this type of ceremony in schools which require parents exorbitant sums for such activities, in particular at the preschool level.

The departmental directorates, through the school inspectorates, must take all measures for the strict application of this ministerial provision.
