iciHaiti - 9th Summit of the Americas : Meeting between the PM and the American Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, on the sidelines of the 9th Summit of the Americas, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry met with the Ambassador of the United States to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield welcomed Prime Minister Henry’s dialogue with the Montana Group and encouraged continued progress in reaching a political accord. The Ambassador reiterated that the United States stands ready to support efforts to hold free, fair, and transparent elections when conditions permit.
Additionally, Thomas-Greenfield expressed the deep concern of the United States over the difficult security and humanitarian conditions in Haiti and stressed the need to hold those responsible for the violence accountable under the rule of law.
They also discussed the upcoming renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Office in Haiti (BINUH).
