iciHaiti - Migration : At least 50,000 Haitians repatriated in 5 months
The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) in collaboration with members of the Armed Forces and the Dominican National Police, has carried out several migration control operations in the National District, Santo Domingo Este (East) and San Pedro de Macorís, with the aim of identify foreigners residing irregularly in Dominican territory

These operations led to the arrest of 453 Haitians of both sexes, without legal documents, who were transferred to the Haina Reception Center, to be investigated, registered and then repatriated to Haiti in compliance with the Dominican laws in force on the Immigration said Enrique García the Director General of the DGM.

He reiterated the Government's commitment to the Dominican people to enforce national immigration legislation, with respect for human rights, recalling that from January to June 2022 more than 50,000 Haitian migrants were repatriated to Haiti after being detected illegally residing in the Dominican Republic.
