Peter Frish, the Director General of the Lucienne Deschamps Foundation, recalled that the Deschamps Prize is accompanied by a check for 175,000 Gourdes as well as 1,000 copies of the novel. "When you read 'La petite fille bleue', you feel the beauty of the words and the strength of the ideas. The work of the jury is a work of proofreading and discussion. This year, there was not really a lot of work. We were won over immediately after reading Luis Bernard Henry's book. The language is beautiful. The characters have a complex and endearing trajectory.
