The "Nègès Mawon" Feminist Festival in Haiti responds to the need to look at cultural and artistic production with a feminist perspective, but also to experiment with a new way of understanding and renewing the issues of feminist activism by using art in general. "Nègès Mawon" tries to transform art into language, to establish a dialogue with this powerful medium to create the crossroads between the demands of women and the creativity of our artists.

This festival responds to the need to move towards new horizons of questioning on women's right to life, on the impact of social, economic and political realities on women's bodies. It will address the specificities of all women, the accumulation of vulnerability factors, the multiple conditions of millions of Haitian women, the impact of the collective on the individuality of women to address these problems in all their facets and complexities.

Call to Creation :

This call is open to artists who have a feminist sensibility and who are able to propose a creative project in the field of theatre, dance or performance. "Nègès Mawon". It encourages creators to affirm their commitment through art and offers the space of this militant festival to discover beautiful proposals affecting both artistic sensitivity and the cause of women. The creation must take into account the theme of the year "My body literally and... disfigured". It can be an adaptation of a feminist text (with the authorization of the author or an unpublished text) in all cases it will be necessary to submit the text of the creation with the file. The creation can be in French or in Creole.

The files will be submitted to an independent committee composed partly of actors and authors.

• Artist's portfolio

• Presentation and description of the project

• A note of intent to defend creation and its place in a feminist festival.

• Text or guideline of the creation

• Publication of results: April 15, 2022.

Stamp: 150,000 Gourdes (one hundred and fifty thousand gourdes)
