iciHaiti - Agriculture : First glimpse of the new USAID project «Market System»
On February 16, 2022, the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the North (CCIN) received at its premises, a delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) who came to inform them about their new "Market System" project.

The Council of the CCIN explains "Following the information provided by the project leaders, we were able to understand that the latter is in its exploratory phase and that USAID is working on five sectors:

- Cultivation of cassava
- Market gardening
- Rice cultivation
- Fruit growing
- Poultry farming

For the moment, USAID is carrying out a diagnosis of the region's agricultural policy with the aim of obtaining concrete results this time on local, national and international markets.

Their new approach is to be as close as possible to the community, taking into account their real needs, the most profitable sectors in the region, the constraints linked to the development of agriculture in order to fix appropriate solutions that can meet consumers demand and strengthen the region's economy."
