iciHaiti - Politic : Signature of an agreement with the UN against corruption
The Ministry of Planning and the United Nations System have signed an Anti-Corruption Project Agreement, an initiative funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF).

One of the main objectives of this initiative is to support civil society involved in the fight against corruption to strengthen the bond of trust between the citizens and the State, in particular the control institutions in charge of ensuring the proper functioning of the mechanisms of public governance and to ensure the defense of the fundamental rights of the population. A reinforcement accompanied by vast campaigns of sensitization and civic education intended for the young generation able to bring about the changes within the society vis-à-vis corruption, and also by promoting spaces of dialogue and the dynamics of multi-actor collaboration, mobilizing civil society, public institutions, the private sector and academia.

The United Nations entities involved in this initiative include the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR ) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The main Haitian institutions and partners involved include the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Anti-Corruption Unit, the General Inspectorate of the Haitian National Police (IGPNH) and the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ), as well as civil society organizations.
