iciHaiti - GARR : 819 women including 169 pregnant and 117 girls repatriated from DR in November
The Repatriates and Refugees Support Group (GARR) recorded in November 2021 the repatriation by the Dominican Republic of 819 women at 3 border posts : Belladère: (514), Ounaminthe: (270) and Malpasse: (35).

Of these 819 women, 107 girls (Belladère : 35; Ounaminthe: 72) and 165 pregnant women (Belladère: 76 and Ounaminthe: 89) were repatriated by the Dominican Republic.

The GARR denounces the deplorable conditions of detention and repatriation of these women, in particular pregnant women, and the human rights violations to which these repatriations are the object. According to testimonies reported by GARR, pregnant women were apprehended by migration officers in Dominican public hospitals, then detained for 2 to 3 days in unacceptable conditions before being taken to the border.
