iciHaiti - FLASH : Call for applications, Training course in exhibition curation and mediation
The Art Center, together with Unesco Haiti, is looking for 10 interns for training in exhibition curation and mediation. The internship will be led by Veerle Poupeye, art historian, curator, critic and cultural consultant from Belgium and Jamaica specializing in Caribbean art.

Course of the internship From January 4 to 29, 2022 :
The internship will begin with an intensive four-week workshop program, during which participants will be exposed to the basic principles of curating art exhibitions and to technical, organizational and conceptual issues related to the production and management of art exhibitions, physical and virtual.

Participants will be exposed to new directions in curatorial practice, to the relationship of these new directions to developments in contemporary art and to the use of new technologies. Particular attention will be given to how conventional curatorial practices can be reimagined in the Caribbean context, in a way that reflects and responds to the cultural context, and how this in turn can contribute to local and international visibility and audience of Caribbean art.

The interns will participate in the curating and organization of an exhibition of works of art produced by contemporary women artists from Haiti, Barbados, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago, in the as part of a cross-residency program organized by Le Center d'Art.

The artist residencies, the curatorial internship program and the exhibition are funded by UNESCO's International Fund for Cultural Diversity.

How to apply :
- Bachelor / Master in Art Art criticism / History of Art / Cultural management / Journalism;
- Proficiency in French and English;
- Computer skills.
