The special envoy of the Prime Minister ai Ariel Henry, the sociologist and ex-Ambassador Daniel Supplice, on his return from a mission from the Dominican Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35255-haiti-diplomacy-end-of-mission-of-special-envoy-daniel-supplice-in-dominican-rep.html spoke at a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office, in particular on the suspension of new student visas and the automatic non-renewal of student visas already granted https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35153-haiti-flash-suspension-of-haitian-student-visas-in-the-dominican-rep-clarification.html

He declared that during his meeting with President Luis Abinader "I told him that it is not possible for Haitian students in the Dominican Republic to suffer the consequences of diplomatic tensions" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35151-haiti-flash-irritated-response-from-claude-jospeh-to-president-abinader.html and added that President Abinader, had ordered his collaborators to form a Commission in charge of re-examining the question of the suspension indefinite OF special visa program for Haitian students.

Note that according to the Dominican Ministry of External Relations (Mirex), 4,000 student visa applications were received under this program and 3,100 visas were issued to Haitians who were already studying in the country.

Note that neither Mirex nor the Presidency of the Dominican Republic made any mention of the official visit of the former Ambassador Supplice, special envoy of the Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry between Monday 8 and Sunday 14 November...
