iciHaiti - REMINDER : D-5, Pauline Parris scholarship
Launched on September 1st, 2021, "The Pauline Parris Haitian Scholarship" will enable a Haitian woman to obtain a master's degree in international peace studies at the "Irish School of Ecumenics" in Ireland.

Let's recall that the Pauline Parris scholarship aims to support the efforts of a Haitian woman, interested in the fields of human and social sciences, international politics and/or human rights with particular attention to Peace and conflict resolution.

The scholarship holder pledges to return to Haiti to share her knowledge and continue her work on social inclusion and peace. Worth 35,000 euros, it will be immersed in a study program that examines the causes and consequences of war and armed conflict, with the aim of understanding how to achieve lasting Peace. Classes draw on perspectives from politics and political science, international relations, philosophy, sociology, ethics and conflict resolution, enabling students to engage critically in social, political and economic issues associated with peace and violence.

Admission requirements :
Applicants should normally have a diploma with honors (or the equivalent of a general average of 83 or above) in a relevant discipline. Students with extensive practical experience, but not meeting this criterion, may be considered at the discretion of the Dean of Graduate Studies.

Applicants whose mother tongue is not English or who have not been educated in English must have a certificate of proficiency in English. The requirements are: TOEFL (minimum score of 570 on paper, 88 on the Internet), IELTS (minimum score of 6.5) or Cambridge Certificate (Level C of proficiency in English or Level C of advanced English).

Supporting documents required :
a) A curriculum vitae;
b) A copy of the transcript and certificate;
c) Two academic references;
d) Proof of Haitian citizenship;
e) A 1,000-word expression of interest indicating how these studies will contribute to peacebuilding work in Haiti.

Note that the Pauline Parris Scholarship team has established a partnership with the Digicel Foundation so that the latter can manage the application process for the scholarship in Haiti.
