iciHaiti - Crisis : UNICEF delivers 6,000 gallons of fuel to 3 hospitals 02/11/2021 11:46:35
Ndiaga Seck, UNICEF Haiti Communications Officer said the organization has delivered 6,000 gallons of fuel to three major hospitals. The organization promises to provide more support as soon as possible, while more hospitals are still on standby.
Let's recall that hundreds of hospitals across the country are suffering because the country cannot obtain fuel because of access to oil terminals, in particular the Varreux Terminal (Cité Soleil) which represents 70% of the country's total storage capacity is under the control of the coalition of gangs "G9" led by Jimmy Chérizier, aka "Barbecue"
Thousands of children and women are at risk as the supply of fuel available at the Thor terminal runs out and hundreds of thousands of barrels of fuel are waiting at sea without being able to be safely unloaded.
