Thursday, October 28, a police source told AFP that the Haitian National Police (PNH) received proof that the 16 Americans and the Canadian kidnapped last October 16 by the "400 mawozo" gang are alive https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35012-haiti-flash-at-least-fifteen-american-missionaries-kidnapped-in-port-au-prince.html without specifying, however, the nature of these evidence.
He declared "Negotiations are underway for the release of the hostages" adding "it is the counter-kidnapping cell of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), which is in discussion with the kidnappers" adding "several officers of the FBI are collaborating on this file."
