iciHaiti - Heritage : Towards a management plan for the Historic National Park
The 6th meeting of the Orientation and Steering Committee of the Heritage Preservation and Support to the Tourism Sector (PAST) project, chaired by the Minister of Culture Jean Emmanuel Jacquet, made it possible to identify the problems and jointly take action on new provisions for the benefit of the Citadel, Sans-Souci, Ramiers National Historical Park (PNH-CSSR).

The Royal Chapel of Milot, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, which was devastated by fire from April 12 to 13, 2020, was the subject of intense discussion among the participants.

It was decided to develop a Management Plan for the Park and a Security Plan for the perimeter of the park and its surroundings.

Discussions also focused on the house of Anténor Firmin to be restored, the Port Authority of Cap-Haitien.

At the end of the day, the participants adopted a set of resolutions around the management of the Historic National Park.

The following took part in this meeting : the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Luz Kurta Cassandra François, the Executive Director of the Technical Execution Unit (UTE), Pierre Michel Joassaint, the Director General of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), Jean Patrick Durandis, the head of the cultural sector within UNESCO, Ms. Laurence Durand, the Deputy Mayor of Cap-Haitien, Patrick Almonor, the Director General of the Town Hall of Milot, and the Executive Director of the Organization for the Management of the Destination North of Haiti (OGDNH).
