iciHaiti - Migration : Cuba repatriates 421 Haitians

On Saturday October 9, 2021, Cuba repatriated to Haiti 421 Haitians who had arrived illegally in Cuba while trying to reach the United States on 2 boats.

In Cuba, the needs of our compatriots have been taken care of, including medical care, especially for pregnant women, children and people with chronic illnesses.

A National Commission, made up of State agencies and the Red Cross, was responsible for logistics, standards and procedures to support Haitians and ensure their return to Haiti in safety.

Note that these repatriations took place after agreement between the diplomatic representatives of the two countries and in accordance with national and international laws.
