On the night of Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9 September 2021, the police of Jérémie carried out a vast muscular operation in Chambellan, more precisely on the road leading to Dame-Marie, which led to the recovery of a rifle from M16 assault and a 38 caliber revolver. During the exchanges of fire with the police, 6 individuals were fatally wounded and others wounded...

Thanks to the information provided by residents of the area, the national police were able to identify these individuals who respond to the names of :

1. Choukan Léon, aka "General" who replaced the named "Brother" (on the run);
2. Jean Junnot;
3. Ti Henry, Chief of the locality aka “Anba monbin bèlis”;
4. Watson Joseph;
5. Noel, another powerful leader of the gang;
6. "Monsly", so known.
