iciHaiti - Earthquake : The PM at the mass celebrated by Bishop André Dumas in memory of the victims of Petite-Rivière des Nippes
Sunday, August 29, 2021, a sung mass at Petite-Rivière des Nippes, was celebrated by Bishop André Dumas and about forty priests from all over the Nippes department, in memory of the 137 victims of the commuine who lost their lives during the earthquake of August 14.

In his intervention the Prime Minister Ariel Henry who attended this requiem mass declared "In this moment of meditation and homage, we feel more united and more in solidarity towards our disaster-stricken compatriots. At the same time, we want to assure them of our will to continue to supervise them and of our commitment to collective reconstruction [...]

I take this moment of meditation, pain and memories to once again present my sympathies to the many victims, as well as to their grieving families.

To our compatriots in Nippes, where I am now, the Government renews its commitment to redouble its efforts for the recovery and reconstruction of the region."
