iciHaiti - Insecurity : Special units and armored vehicles in Martissant
Police officers assigned to specialized units including the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID) and the Departmental Maintaining Order Unit (UDMO) have been occupying the Martissant police station since August 5, 2021.

Three armored vehicles of the PNH crisscross the main road to facilitate the resumption of traffic, disrupted for several weeks, due to the armed conflict between rival gangs operating at the southern entrance to the capital.

Meanwhile, the Haitian National Police (PNH) denies rumors suggesting that the police were forced to abandon the station. The PNH ensures that it will continue to ensure an active presence in this area to take control of the situation in Martissant by putting all armed bandits out of harm's way.

The National Police reiterates its determination to mobilize all its resources and to increase its interventions in this district in order to create a climate of peace where the population can quietly go about their business.
