iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Inauguration of the Legal Assistance Office
Tuesday June 1, 2021, Me Rockefeller Vincent, the Minister of Justice, Me René Magloire, the pioneer of this initiative and Me Jeudy Bazile, Director General of the National Council of Legal Assistance (CNAL), proceeded to the Palace of Petit-Goâve at the inauguration of the Legal Assistance Office (BAL).

This launching ceremony chaired by Me Gélès Pierre, took place in the presence among others of representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Me Fritzner Duclair, Dean of the Court of First Instance, investigating judges, lawyers, bailiffs and clerks and members of civil society...

All the speeches converged in the same direction "Allow the poor to have access to justice" and fight prolonged preventive detention.

It should be remembered that it was the UNDP which financed the construction of the building housing the BAL.

In addition, on the sidelines of this inauguration, Minister Vincent Rockefeller Vincent made an inspection visit of the works of the new Petit-Goâve Civil Prison which will be inaugurated in the coming weeks, the conditions of detention in the current civil prison de Petit-Goâve are execrable and inhuman
