iciHaiti - Draft Constitution : Extension of the assizes at the request of the citizens of Grand'Anse
Following the meeting of April 15, 2021, on the preliminary draft of the new Constitution, which took place in downtown Jérémie to which more than 300 people shared their remarks and suggestions with the members of the Independent Advisory Committee (CCI) who participated in these meetings, the CCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Grand'Anse, decided to grant more time to the citizens of the department, in order to reflect on the preliminary draft of the new Constitution.

This decision was taken at the request of the participants from the various communes of the department who expressed their interest in continuing and increasing the discussions within their community.

Aware of the complexity of the work started, and welcoming the will of citizens to broaden the scope of discussions on the new constitutional text, the CCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Grand'Anse are committed to collect as much as possible quickly, the work that will be carried out at the community level.

By listening to suggestions and grievances on the preliminary draft of the new constitution, the CCI intends to continue discussions through the 10 geographic departments of Haiti, in order to allow all citizens to be informed and participate to the spaces of exchange necessary for the creation of a new mother law.
