iciHaiti - Politic : «The elections in Haiti open the way to progress»
In a statement, the Ambassador of Haiti in the Dominican Republic, Smith Augustin, expressed his satisfaction following the official publication of the electoral calendar by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32719-haiti-flash-complete-calendar-of-all-electoral-operations-2020-2022-official.html which officially announces the general elections in 2021 which "opens the way to the institutionality and progress of the country" according to the Ambassador.

Augustin declared that with these next elections, Haiti "was emerging from the political and Constitutional vacuum that currently exists with the absence of a Parliament" stressing that this electoral calendar "agreed with all Haitian national sectors and the support of the international community is a firm hope that as of February 7, 2022, the Haitian Nation will have all its authorities elected in free, democratic and transparent elections."

He stressed that Haiti will need the assistance and support of the entire international community. "I hope that the Dominican Government, all the international organizations and the countries friends of Haiti will offer their sincere support to this electoral process which the Haitian people so badly need for greater political stability, social pacification and integral economic development."
