Message from Lesly Condé : "I humbly and respectfully bow to greet the passage on earth of Master Gérard Gourgue. I had the distinct honor of welcoming this great man to Chicago in 2007 in my capacity as Consul General of Haiti. He accompanied a delegation of parliamentarians headed by the then President of the National Assembly, the Honorable Senator from the South-East, Joseph Lambert. During our many conversations, I learned that my father, Milien Condé, was one of his first companions in the struggle. I know that our Nation has lost someone irreplaceable and that Me Gourgue has contributed to the training of several generations of competent lawyers and ardent defenders of human rights. To all the members of Maître Gérard Gourgue's family, I offer my very sincere condolences. I join my voice to that of a nation deeply grateful to say: THANK YOU, MASTER GÉRARD GOURGUE!
