iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Paralysis of judicial activities at the Palace of Justice
Friday, November 13, 2020, at around 10:00 a.m., a group of activists and young people including Ti Pouchon, Amos, Archille, Ba'w, from different populars neighborhoods of Petit-Goâve took over the courtyard of the city's courthouse, to force the judicial authorities in particular the Government Commissioner to put public action in motion against the Chief of the Municipal Police of Petit-Goâve, Jerry Archange Leconte who had wounded, by bullet https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32258-haiti-news-zapping.html the citizen Gérald Jean on the evening of Sunday November 8, 2020 in contradictory circumstances...

The demonstrators very upset against impunity, say they are threatened. They chanted hostile remarks against the Chief of Police, criticized the passivity of the sitting and standing Magistrates while demanding the suspension of the current judicial activities at the Palais de Justice.

In view of the tense situation, the hearings were interrupted, the administrative staff, the Dean, the deputies of the Government Commissioner, the lawyers and the litigants left the premises.

The demonstrators condition the resumption of activities within the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Court of First Instance of Petit-Goâve on the arrest of the Chief of the Municipal Police Jerry Archange Leconte.
