iciHaiti - Heritage : Unveiling of the historical painting «The Children of King Henri Christophe»
Tuesday, October 6, date of the birthday of Henry Christophe (October 6, 1767), one of the Founding Fathers of the Nation, the First Lady Martine Moïse, Honorary President of the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) in presence of Pradel Henriquez Minister of Culture, Jean-Claude Legagneur, Director General of the Museum, Government Officials, Directors General, Representatives of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, personalities from cultural and academic circles as well as members of the press, proceeded to the ceremony of unveiling of the anonymous historical painting representing the three of the King's children, born of his marriage to Marie Louise Malgrein Coidavid, a rare work titled "The Children of King Christophe".

The Minister of Culture in his speech for the occasion did not fail to "thank the Embassy of Haiti in Washington for donating this heritage of importance to our history"

In her speech, the Honorary President of MUPANAH declared "This historical reminder on the descendants of the illustrious monarch, confirms the decision of the President of the Republic to repatriate this canvas, will remain for future generations, a gesture with high patriotic bearing. and a big step in the consolidation of our memory."

Jean-Claude Legagneur, took public responsibility for ensuring the conservation of this painting by including it in the inventory of the Museum's historical collection.

The unveiling ceremony was closed, at the multipurpose room of the MUPANAH Gardens in a setting worthy of the illustrious Monarch, by "The King's dance" from the show "The Queen's jubilee" offered by the "21 Nanchon" troupe Directed by the artist Érol Josué also Director General of the National Bureau of Ethnology.
