iciHaiti - Literature : Ms. Andrise Pierre, 2020 Francophone Dramaturgy Prize
The Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers (SACD) awarded its 2020 Francophone Dramaturgy Prize to Haitian author Andrise Pierre for her text "She wanted or thought she wanted and then suddenly she no longer wants !" (Elle voulait ou croyait vouloir et puis tout à coup elle ne veut plus !). Note that Ms. Andrise Pierre is the second Haitian author to receive this Prize, after Jean-René Lemoine in 2009.

Remember that the SACD Prize for Francophone Dramaturgy since 2001 has rewarded the author of a French-speaking work from a selection of texts proposed by the Maison des Auteurs de Limoges.

Having completed part of her studies in France, Andrise Pierre lives in Port-au-Prince where she teaches French and Haitian literature. Already distinguished in 2019 for her play "Emptied my belly of my son's blood" (Vidé mon ventre du sang de mon fils), Ms. Pierre testifies to the eminent place occupied by Haiti in Francophone literature and dramaturgy and to the vitality of the links that unite Haiti and France in the field of culture.

The SACD sends its congratulations to Ms. Pierre for this distinction, and its best wishes for the continuation of her very promising literary career.
