iciHaiti - Social : 23 Haitian boat-people intercepted in the Caicos Islands

The "Loose Moose" a 25-foot motorboat carrying 23 illegal Haitians (18 men and 5 women), was intercepted in the archipelago of the Caicos Islands, 5 miles from the South Dock at Providenciales in the territorial waters of the Turks-and-Caicos Islands by patrol boats of the Marine Branch Unit.

These Haitians were handed over to officials of the Ministry of Immigration for processing and repatriation to Haiti.

Let's recall that in the Archipelago any person who lodges or helps illegal foreigners, is an offense punishable by a fine of 20,000 US dollars or a prison sentence of 4 years, or both, in accordance with the ordinance on 2018 immigration revised.
