iciHaiti - Football : National funeral of «Ti Nès» a legend of the king sport
Tuesday President Jovenel Moïse, Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe, Ministers, Senators, former officials, sports leaders, former teammates, former collaborators, fans... paid a vibrant tribute to the former glory and mythical defender of Haitian football who died last August 14 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31542-haiti-football-death-of-legendary-defender-ernst-jean-joseph.html to Ernst Jean-Joseph aka "Ti Nès" during his national funeral.

The testimonies on the life and the extraordinary career of the captain of the national football team who participated in the 1974 World Cup reminded the whole nation that Ti Nès was one of the best sons, athletes, ambassadors that the country has known.

The various interventions reminded us or taught us that with the Haitian selection, the Violette Athlectic Club, the Association Sportive Capoise, Ernest Jean-Joseph was a source of serenity for his teammates, a sure value for his fans, a technician outside peer for analysts, an insurmountable wall and a nightmare for adversaries.

"Ti Nès made his contribution to the evolution and the beauty of the game, and served his country with a strong sense of patriotism during the conquest of the qualifying ticket for the 1974 World Cup in the Federal Republic of Germany" declared Ronald Gérard D'Mézard the Minister of Youth and Sports before adding that "1974 is bigger than those who did it but those who did it deserve our recognition".

The Minister is convinced that the life, career and exploits of our illustrious footballer and coach will continue to inspire dozens and dozens of generations of Haitian footballers and athletes !
