Sunday August 16, as part of the Environmental Education program initiated by the Ministry of the Environment, whose the implementation is ensured by the Department of Education, Inspection and Environmental Monitoring (DEISE). 7 employees of the Ministry of the Environment (3 women and 4 men) went to Vallue (12th communal section of Petit-Goâve), to participate in a training on techniques for setting up school gardens / pantry gardens organized by the Banyen Center.

The participants of this seminar, which will take place from August 17 to 21, 2020, were chosen at the level of the Departmental Directorates of the West, the South and the Artibonite. The objective is to allow these technicians to acquire the necessary knowledge to be able to set up school gardens / pantries in their respective departments.

These reference pilot gardens will serve to familiarize children with biodiversity, in particular aromatic and medicinal plants, and will also help introduce them to the sustainable management of natural resources and raise their awareness of environmental problems in general.
