iciHaiti - Death : MJSAC salutes the departure of a national football monument
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) learned with dismay, emotion and deep sadness the death of one of the best defenders in the history of national football, Ernst Jean Joseph aka "Ti Nès" occurred Friday August 14, 2020 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31542-haiti-football-death-of-legendary-defender-ernst-jean-joseph.html

The Ministry underlines "An excellent central defender, Ernst Jean Joseph was ahead of his time and already showed all the qualities of a libero long before those who invented this position. Elegant, of impressive technical ease, he was precise in his raises, went up the field with the ball to the foot to carry danger in the opposing camp. Besides his solidity and physical rigor, Ernst Jean Joseph was a great attacking asset for his clubs and the national team because of his good vision of the game and his technical qualities. He was one of the few in his day to display such a level of serenity in the penalty area.

National football loses a monument with the death of Ernst Jean Joseph who, through his performances, wrote one of the beautiful pages in the history of our king sport by participating in one of its greatest epics.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action bows before the remains of this immense talent, illustrious son of Haiti and worthy representative of the Nation during sports games during the 70s and offers its sincere condolences to the Haitian Football Federation, his parents, his teammates from the ASC, the VAC, the national team and the great football family in general. The Ministry hopes that a tribute to the dimension of his talent and the services rendered to the Nation will be reserved for Ernst Jean Joseph when he bid him farewell.

Rest in peace !"
