Divisional Inspector Gary Desrosiers, Deputy Spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) at a press conference on Wednesday drew attention on the cases of rape of minors and called on parents to be vigilant. For the first 21 days of July, 8 cases of rape were recorded, including 7 involving minors.

He mentioned in particular the arrest on July 17 by the Brigade for the Protection of Minors of St-Clair Lionel, 63, at avenue Pouplard, for having sexually abused his daughter since she was 8 years old and who is currently 17 years old. The minor's mother was also arrested for complicity.

He also reported on the arrest of Sherlus Junior, 28, at Cabaret on July 12, who was cohabiting with a 16-year-old teenager, on the pretext that the new penal code sets 15 years as the age of sexual majority...
