"On this Sunday, June 28, how solemn, where our worthy men, living both in native land and in foreign land, are the object of all the attentions and recognition of their loved ones, I feel privileged to be able to wish a happy feast to all Haitian fathers, from here and elsewhere. I admire and salute the love of these brave men who, inspired by the ideal of the founding fathers, in the Imperial Constitution of 1805, 'No one is worthy of being Haitian if he is not a good father [...]', The veins are bleeding in a socio-economic context 'post-locked country' and in full pandemic covid-19, to provide for the daily needs of their families. These fathers who are matched only by our courageous mothers serve as examples and role models. As a well-deserved tribute to the Haitian fathers, I approach this day in a very special frame of mind, at the height of the noble work of these proud men. To all responsible fathers, fighting in national territory or abroad, I therefore renew my patriotic respects and affections. Happy and courageous Father's Day to all !"
