iciHaiti - Road safety : 17 accidents at least 43 victims
Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian Technical and Operational Services to Stop (STOP-Accidents) organization, informs us that for the week of June 15 to 21, 2020, 17 road accidents on the national territory (-19%) by compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31038-icihaiti-road-safety-21-accidents-59-victims.html , made at least 43 victims (-27.1%): 4 dead ( -50%) and 39 injured (-23.5%) including several seriously.

Lizon, Sainte-Philomène (Nord), Léogane, Puits-blain, Chatard (Plaisance du nord), Saint-Marc, Carrefour Charles, Petit-Goâve among others are the main communes and zones where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen preventive measures in the face of the rise in Covid cases19, particularly in terms of public transport and containment.
