iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Young professionals engaged in the fight against Covid-19

Tuesday in Petit-Goâve, the Citizen Initiative for the Prevention and Support of Patients with Coronavirus (ICPAPAC), presented at a press conference a first assessment of its achievements in the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19.

The ICPAPAC is a new structure of the Civil Society made up of young professionals : doctors, agronomists, educators, sociologists and pharmacists who have pooled their commitment and their knowledge in order to make the population of Petit-Goâve aware of the precautions to be taken when faced with the spread of Covid-19 on the national territory https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30765-haiti-covid-19-daily-report-may-13-2020.html

Summary of activities carried out by ICPAPAC :

  • Installation in the streets of devices for hand washing;
  • Placing information posters on the walls on the barrier measures to be observed;
  • Illustration on the walls to better draw people's attention to compliance with barrier measures;
  • distribution of 2,000 masks to help people better protect themselves;
  • Conducting training sessions for representatives of the 12 municipal sections.

It is important to highlight the strategy used by ICPAPAC members in the fight against Covid-19 :

  • Disinfection of public spaces;
  • Installation of sprayers and appropriate equipment to spray public markets, bus stations, banks, courts, motorcycles, customs, hotels and some private stores.

In addition, the ICPAPAC Executive Committee thanked its collaborators and supporters for the assistance provided and wished to congratulate all the parallel organizations which are engaged in the fight against the pandemic and launched an appeal for unity, rallying of all those wishing to join ICPAPAC in this fight.

ICPAPAC reiterated its desire to continue with the same determination the activities initiated and the objectives set in accordance with its slogan "Save lives, because the Coronavirus concerns us all."
