Tuesday Claude Joseph held a fruitful working meeting by videoconference at the Office of the National Authorizing Officer, between Authorizing Officer Charles Jean Jacques, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Claude Joseph, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Haiti Sylvie Tabesse and the Head of Cooperation Aniceto Rodriguez Luiz. This working session aimed to discuss the possibility and modalities of reallocating funds (160 million euros) from the envelope of the National Indicative Program of the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) in order to meet the urgent health needs linked to Covid19.

A proposal was made in order to carry out a budgetary reorganization on the National Indicative Program of the 11th EDF of Haiti to integrate a component relating to the Health Sector and on the other hand to present certain flexibility mechanisms concerning the budget support to the Haitian government.

The areas that will be concerned are among others WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), strengthening of materials and equipment of the capacities of the National Health Laboratory.
