iciHaiti - Literature : The writer Frankétienne celebrates its 84 years 15/04/2020 11:19:30 Minister Henriquez recalls that "Frankétienne's first novel written in Creole language 'Dezafi' published in 1975, had been hailed as soon as it was published by national and international critics as a major work which marked Creole-language literature. Main founder of the spiralism movement, the writer during his 60 years of careers has not stopped introducing us to the heart of a chaos tinged with poetic, metaphysical, iconographic, dreamlike, philosophical, voodoo, psychoanalytic and spiralist figures. His work, woven with delirious energy and madness, affirms that he is a wonderfully gifted writer with amazing discoveries in lexical and linguistic matters. [...] At the age of 84, he has produced 60 books to date, including his latest Incandescences, dealing with spirituality like a writer at the top of his game. Poet, playwright, singer, performer, painter, Frankétienne, is an exceptional creator who, despite the turpitudes of life in Haiti, continues to leave us an epic work, creative and master of herself. Born on an Easter Sunday, the coincidence required that his birthday marking the date he should leave falls on an Easter Sunday, according to this method that he described to us during his numerous conferences under the name of 'Life Cycle'. Premonitory or not, Frankétienne is still alive to celebrate this great day with hier family under a sky which gives way to the Covid pandemic19, in a space which he himself would have called 'indefinite where men and gods rub shoulders with the infinity of light and shadow'."
