iciHaiti - Road safety : 59 accidents at least 113 victims
Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from February 17 to March 1, 2020, 59 road accidents on the national territory made at least 113 victims : 15 dead and 98 injured, including several seriously.

Canapé Vert, Péguy-ville, Montagne Noire, Delmas 31, Airport Road, Route 9, Juvénat, Saint-Marc, Mirebalais, Pèlerin 9, rue Métellus, Delmas 60, Lizon, Madeline (Cap-Haïtien), Carrefour Comb, Fond-des-Blancs, Léogâne among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads while continuing to ask the authorities concerned to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on public roads and better behavior of drivers on the roads.
