iciHaiti - Security : Multiplication of burglaries at the Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office
The "Fondasyon Je Klere" (FJKL) in its latest report reports that burglaries at the Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office and the disappearance of exhibits are increasing.

The last year dates is a burglary in the office of Me Bernard Sainvil, Dean of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, where individuals stole 5 million Gourdes in the file of the former Deputy Arnel Bélizaire after attempting to force in vain the dean's safe where the bodies of the crime are stored.

Other judges Me MerIan Belabre and Me Chavannes Étienne confirmed that they were also victims of theft of exhibits. Even the office of the former Government Commissioner, Me Jacques Lafontant, in December and September 2019 was the target of unidentified individuals who stole exhibits (money, drugs, perfumes, firearms among others...) from seizures during various arrests...

FJKL reports that, according to the statements of the chief clerk of the public prosecutor's office, the disappearance of an element of a file is frequent but that no report by a judge has apparently been drawn up on the disappearance of these exhibits ...
