iciHaiti - Social : Régine Tessa Diègue elected «Femme Dofen 2019»
Régine Tessa Diègue received the "Prix Femme Dofen 2019" for her dedication to the integration of disabled people in Haiti. She finished with the most votes in this contest launched on December 1, 2019 to honor 15 women involved in the development of their communities.

Diègue is Departmental Secretary North, of the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH) and also Founder and coordinator of the "Movement for the Integration and Empowerment of Women with Disabilities" (MIEFH).

The "Femme Dofen Awards" ceremony was an opportunity to show women that their work counts and that it is appreciated both in Haiti and elsewhere. The BSEIPH presents its heartfelt congratulations to Madame Diègue !

Paralyzed from the age of 7 due to a vaccine, Régine distinguished herself by her actions in the human rights sector, mainly of people with disabilities in the North. She created the "Movement for the Integration and Empowerment of Women with Disabilities" (MIEFH) an organization made up of women with disabilities. Régine organizes each year two major events "Christmas for disabled children" festivity during which she distributes toys, hot dishes to children and the "Mother's Day with disabilities" a recreational day during which the guests share gifts with each other and receive food kits.
