Foreign Minister Bocchit Edmond heads a five-member Haitian delegation, including the National Authorizing Officer of the European Development Fund (EDF), Charles Jean-Jacques, participed in Nairobi, Kenya, from December 6 to 10 , at the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Africa Caribbean Pacific Group (ACP) which took place around the themes "Cooperation for Good Governance, Peace and Security, including the Fight against Terrorism," violent extremism and Radicalization."

During this session, several topics of interest to the Group were discussed including the revision of the Georgetown Agreement establishing the ACP Group, the status of the post-Cotonou Agreement negotiation process, the financing of the development, promotion and development of agricultural value chains, the appointment of a new Secretary General of the ACP Group. Decisions and resolutions adopted at ministerial level were submitted for approval by the Summit.

In his speech, Minister Edmond confirmed Haiti's accession to the ongoing changes within the Group, reported on the evolution of the socio-political situation and reaffirmed Haiti's commitment to contribute to the achievement of goals and objectives of the Organization.

On the report of the Council of Ministers, the Summit endorsed the revision of the 1975 Georgetown Agreement (amended in 2003), which transforms the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) into the Organization of African States. ACP (OEACP), among other changes and modifications.

It should be recalled that the OEACP has 79 member states (48 in Africa, 16 in the Caribbean, including Haiti and 15 in the Pacific).
